2014 Fulldome Festival: Preliminary Program

The annual FullDome-Festival at the Zeiss-Planetarium Jena is a key event for professionals and activists in the field of 360-degree immersive multimedia productions. The purpose of the Festival is to showcase recent fulldome productions and provide an open platform to promote the art, the business and the future of fulldome. Now in its eighth year of existence, the festival has attracted thousands of visitors and gained international reputation. 19:30 Theatrical performance: “Kometentanz – Astrale Pantomime” (Comet Dance); by cosmically inspired writer Paul Scheerbart, published in 1903; now staged for the first time as a mix of digital dome projection, dance, acting and music of the spheres. 11:00 – 11:20 Diana Reichenbach: Losing time and space – expieriencing immersion. In this Artist Talk, Diana discusses the evolution of her interest in seeking immersion for audiences through fulldome, projection mapping, and architectural installations in both her independent and commercial work. 11:25 – 12:00 Emanuel J. Zueger: How to display anything in any fulldome. At this year’s FullDome Festival a fulldome media server called DOMEMASTER is in action, that allows to show any kind of fulldome footage without pre-slicing and displays interactive applications. 11:00 “Kometentanz – Astrale Pantomime” (Comet Dance). The festival ends with the matinee performance of Kometentanz, by cosmically inspired writer Paul Scheerbart. Digital dome projection, dance, acting and music of the spheres at the immersive Fulldome Theatre.
