2017 DUG Conference

The Digistar User Group will hold its annual conference at the Cozumel 3D Planetarium in Quintana Roo, Mexico from November 8th to 10th, 2017. Pre-Conference Workshops by Evans & Sutherland will take place from November 6th to 8th. The DUG provides a forum for discussion and exchange of information concerning the Digistar digital planetarium systems. It also provides a means for exchanging Digistar content, and for maintaining a dialogue between member sites and the Digistar system manufacturer on matters of service, improvements, and other subjects of mutual concern and interest. This is the first DUG Conference to be held at Mexico; in the Caribbean area, Cozumel host is in a small close-by island, right by the sea. It has a 12-meter dome with a Digistar 3D system. Facilities for DUG include an auditorium and classroom. It also has exhibits area and telescopes. Skies there are so clear. Conference includes visiting Cancun and Playa del Carmen Planetariums inland as well, where DUG Demos will be displayed. The Planetarium Network of Quintana Roo, with four 12 meters fixed domes, and two Outreach systems, is a unique initiative from Mexican Quintana Roo State. Pre or post conference tours are available for natural reserves, Mayan archeology sites, diving in the reefs and more. Please visit the official website for more information about the event.
