Countdown to the Russian Fulldome Festival and Planetarium Conference 2017

With the FullDome Festival in Jena finished and Fulldome Festival in Brno in full blast, we're already packing our suitcases for yet another remarkable event. This year will mark the third instalment to the first and oldest Russian fulldome festival "Reflections of the Universe". As usual, the festival will take place in the Cultural and Educational Center named after V.V. Tereshkova in Yaroslavl - the heart of the Russian Golden Ring. Besides a traditional marathon of fulldome shows and clips, participants are also welcome to a pre-festival conference called Planetariums of the 21st century. Lasting from 13 to 15 June, the conference will bring together university lecturers, leading researchers, astronomers, fulldome producers, planetarium educators, and everyone interested in the development and popularization of fulldome format. The range of topics for scheduled talks includes a scientific overview of the latest achievements in astronomy and astrophysics, dome software presentations, legal aspects of fulldome production and distribution, VR technologies, hybrid planetarium systems, perspectives for supplementary education in planetariums, and many others. The days from 16 to 18 June will be given to the festival activities. During the festival, participants will enjoy fulldome productions from Russia, Ukraine, Argentina, Germany, Greece, Italy, Thailand, the Netherlands, Poland, the United States of America, France, and Japan. On the final day, the Jury will award game-changing shows, talented authors and creative teams with traditional prizes.
