A space scientist in his day job, Dr. Jim Thorne is also a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, recording artist, award-winning TV show host and producer, novelist, and early education volunteer with the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum. He considers it a privilege to have performed his original space story songs for over 10,000 elementary science students since 2014. He’s currently using Blender to create animated planetarium shows based on his space-related story songs. As a youngster, Jim learned to play along on guitar with John Denver and Jim Croce records and is a member of the Recording Academy based on sales of his two commercial children’s albums.
