Understanding Visual Music – UVM 2025 brings together a network of festivals, artists, and researchers. 2025 it will celebrate its 15th anniversary with a major event featuring the Fulldome International Network Seminar and Festival. This event will showcase immersive audiovisual works in five university domes in Brazil and one in South Africa. Additionally, there will be exhibitions, lectures, roundtables, and workshops at UFSM in Santa Maria, Brazil, all of which will be open to the public and free of charge. The theme for this edition is “COSMOSENE,” reflecting the current socio-environmental crisis and calling for a human re-evaluation of our relationships with the Cosmos.
UVM 2025: COSMOCENO will also feature exhibitions, conferences and workshops open to the public, with free admission. It is held by the Interactive Interdisciplinary Laboratory – LabInter and is organized and curated by Ricardo Dal Farra (UVM – Understanding Visual Music, CEIARTE-UNTREF and Concórdia University), Andreia Oliveira and Matheus Moreno (EFEMERA Imagem – LabInter-UFSM), Cristiano Figueiró (SUBVERSO: Visual Music in Fulldome, LABMUSAS-UFBA).
The deadline for submitting works of expanded visual music and video art in Fulldome and virtual reality is being extended until May 17, 2025, at 11:59 pm, Brasilia time (GMT-3). Use this fact for your advantage!

REQUIREMENTS: Video files should be, preferably, on MP4 format and must have embedded stereo sound. Resolution of 2K, 4k or 8k (preferably 4k). Duration of, preferably, no more than 7 minutes (longer propositions may be considered).
• Fulldome Video – 2K pixels square (2048×2048 pixels) MP4 (PREFERENCE) or other- embedded audio;
• Fulldome Video – 4K (PREFERENCE) pixels square (4096×4096 pixels) MP4 or other – embedded audio;
• Fulldome Video – 8K pixels square (8192×8192 pixels) MP4 or other – embedded audio;
• 360° Video – Virtual Reality (VR glasses) – 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) MP4 or other- embedded audio;
• 360° Video – Virtual Reality (VR glasses) – 4K (3840×2160 pixels) MP4 or other – embedded audio;
• 360° Video – Virtual Reality (VR glasses) – 8K (7680 x 4320 pixels) MP4 or other – embedded audio;
• 360° Video for Master Cave PUCPR (15,370 x 1080 pixels WALLS; 5000 x 5000 pixels FLOOR) – MP4 or other;
• Interactive installation – with Executable file (Unity, Unreal, etc.).
