I have been in the planetarium business for over 20 years, starting as a Console Operator at the Sky Theater of the University of North Texas working with a Digistar II, where I worked on productions, gave shows to school groups, and aided astronomy labs. After graduation I became the program coordinator for a new planetarium at the University of Texas at Arlington, a Digistar 3 dome where I produced shows and help run the outreach program. After interviewing in a NY blizzard I joined Colgate as the Senior Visualization Lab Designer and Technician in 2008. Immersed in the liberal arts setting of Colgate University, I work closely with faculty and students designing content for many disciplines, including Anthropology, Art, Astronomy, Athletics, Biology, Classics, Computer Science, Geography, Geology, History, and Physics. I also teach students how to create content for the dome. Over the past 10 years we have produced five full dome shows and several course modules ranging in topics. In his free time, Joe enjoys playing adult softball, being a sci-fi geek, and cooking.
