Baikal International Festival of Documentary and Popular-Science Films “People and Environment” n.a. V. Rasputin has been held in Irkutsk oblast since 1999 (annually since 2007). It happens on the occasion of Baikal Day celebration and was created as a film stage that gives an opportunity to reflect on complex relations of people and nature. The aim of the festival is to form ecological awareness by the means of film art. Every year more than 200 authors and art unions from Russia and all over the world apply to participate in the competition. The screenings are held on five stages of Irkutsk City and are attended by more than 7000 citizens of Irkutsk Oblast. In 2016 the festival has “best full-dome film” award. Application deadline is April 30, 2016
