The show focuses on the most important past, current and future ESA missions for observing and monitoring the Earth’s magnetosphere, atmosphere, landcover, hydrosphere, cryosphere, and biosphere. Missions such as EarthCare, GOCE, Cryosat, Cluster are described. It presents an overview of ESA’s activities for weather monitoring and forecasting, as well as natural and human-made disaster prevention and monitoring. “Preserving Our Precious Planet” includes a component on the climate and its rapid change in the last several decades. It emphasises the relevance of those missions to economic activities and more nature-friendly economies, all the while preserving the children-friendly approach and presentation style. The show finally looks to the future with technologically advanced upcoming missions to study our precious planet.

The Fulldome Show “Preserving Our Precious Planet” is produced by the Regional Natural History Museum of Plovdiv, in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). It is directed by critically acclaimed director and producer Theofanis Matsopoulos. It has been funded under a contract the Regional Natural History Museum of Plovdiv and ESA, as part of the ESA PECS program in Bulgaria.
