Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia, NC is seeking a full time planetarium administrator for the James H. Lynn Planetarium.   In operation since the late 1960's, our planetarium has recently implemented full dome technology with a Spitz SciDome XD projection system, new sound system, new cove lighting, a dramatic theater entrance and a host of new full dome content. The facility is seeking an energetic, dynamic, experience-oriented department leader to manage the facility, produce programming, deliver content, supervise staff, and fully utilize the facility's capabilities towards meeting community needs and institutional goals.  Excellent customer service and teaching skills are essential.  Familiarity with planetarium operations and technical skills necessary to conduct repairs are required. Supervisory experience, budget management experience and demonstrated show products skills are highly desired. A qualified candidate will be able to effectively evaluate, plan, write, develop and produce content that meets the needs a variety of audiences, from children to adults.   This position is with the City of Gastonia, NC but assigned to the Schiele Museum, a municipal department.   More information is available at City's official website.
