Reviews

Thoughtful & engaging look at a potential near-future of people on the Moon. It is well-researched and feels very authentic, whilst also installing a sense of wonder at what might be to come.

Moonbase takes viewers on a journey through time as we develop a base on the moon. Firstly the story and timeframe is incredibly accurate with our current understanding, and technology, highlighting many of the pitfalls the early days on colonisation would have to overcome, and how in time it could become a viable colony. The show covers delves into depth on topics such as regolith,; something rarely covered in moon based shows, and does so in an incredibly accessible manner for wide audience ranges. Other science content of the show again goes into suitable depth to be interesting but still keeping a fast pace to keep the audience attention. Visuals are of good quality, with a mix of stunning lunar landscape, wireframe, and action scenes included. Perfect for audiences 9+ both general public and schools, especially as the Moon never stops being a topic of interest. A show like this is one that can regularly cycle in your schedule. No specific dates are used so will not easily become out of date in the next few years.
