IMERSA Welcomes Two New Board Members

IMERSA has expanded its governing board to include two new industry members, Carolyn Collins Petersen of Loch Ness Productions and Andy Zakrajsek, past senior vice president of guest operations at COSI.

Carolyn is a founding member of IMERSA and functions as its Communications Coordinator. She brings extensive experience in fulldome show production, exhibit content creation, and is an award-winning science writer. "Carolyn has been a hard-working and enthusiastic supporter of the IMERSA movement for many years", said Dan Neafus, CEO of IMERSA. "We are thrilled to have her officially join our leadership team and contribute her valuable expertise to IMERSA."

Andy Zakrajsek brings his vast experience in hospitality, retail and not-for-profit institution management to the IMERSA leadership team. He was Senior Vice President of guest operations at COSI until his recent retirement and previously served as Director of guest operations at the Museum of Science and Industry. Andy currently serves on the Board of the Giant Screen Cinema Association. His expertise strengthens the relationship between our respective organizations. "Andy's proven skills in operations, business development and revenue enhancement are a welcome addition to the IMERSA Board," said Neafus. "He successfully shepherded the 2018 Summit at COSI and we look forward to working with him on other organization matters in the future."

IMERSA is a non-profit business league with roots deeply embedded in the digital fulldome medium. Incorporated in 2008, the founding sponsors initiated ongoing research and development programs in search of standards and guidelines for fulldome production and technologies. IMERSA hosts an annual international Summit for fulldome professionals, covering facets of immersive experience including; digital fulldome cinema, immersive entertainment, interactive performance arts, and other experiential content. Its annual summits regularly bring together experts in all aspects of immersive entertainment and education.

The next Summit will take place February 2-5, 2019 at the Center of Science & Industry in Columbus, OH. More information about this event will be forthcoming at IMERSA.org.
