Job Opportunity: Instructional Coordinator Planetarium for Space Science Program

The New Mexico State Personnel Office invites applications for the position of Instructional Coordinator-Advanced (DCA #10107872).

This position is responsible for the Space Science Program at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. This position will oversee the daily operations of the museum’s planetarium, implement the space science educational programs on behalf of the Museum and collaborate with the Museum’s Space Science Team on the development of the museums exhibits on space science develop and write an effective educational curriculum and provide statewide outreach the museum’s space science program.

The position will work as a team member with museum staff providing space science content for existing museum programs and exhibits. Will serve on the museum strategic planning team, museum management team, and supervise assigned staff, interns and volunteers relating to projects with the Space Science Program.

This position is a Pay Band 65.

Classification description:
Instructional Coordinators-Advanced

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or University and two (2) years of experience in teaching and working with lesson planning and curriculum design. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling six (6) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

Working Conditions
Standing, bending, climbing on ladders, statewide travel, kneeling, use of computer and technology associated with planetarium domes.
