The Dance Dome
will present three fulldome dance films at the 25th Macau Arts Festival in China.
The Dance Dome is a portable 360° cinema that blurs the boundaries between movement, digital technology and cinema, wrapping dance around the viewer to create a truly unique immersive experience.
Co-produced by the multimedia collective 4π Productions and Coreo Cymru (Creative Producer for Dance in Wales) with support from the Arts Council of Wales and Chapter, the Dance Dome films have been created by an international crew and feature choreography by award-winning companies Taikabox, Harnisch-Lacey Dance Theatre and Earthfall.
The Dance Dome´s 2014 tour begins later this month in Macau, China, where it will be installed for two weeks presenting a trilogy of fulldome films produced in Wales.
As a self contained venue the Dance Dome, equipped with a 3k Fulldome.pro projection system, provides visitors with a visual experience normally only accessible from within a planetarium environment.
The Dance Dome will be located at Macau Plaza between the 19th and the 25th of May and at Taipa Temple between the 28th May to the 1st of June 2014. Screenings are every 45 minutes between 18.30 and 21.30 on weekdays and between 11 and 21.30 on weekends.
The Dance Dome will be touring across Wales this summer thanks to the support of the Arts Council of Wales. It will visit Cardiff, Swansea, Harlech, Brecon, Newport, Aberystwyth and Portmeirion.
