About me

The Minsk Planetarium is the only place in the city where you can enjoy the fascination of the Universe at any time of the day. It opened on July 29, 1965 in the very center of the capital, in the Gorky Park, and has a vivid architectural stylistics characteristic of its time. Our starry hall has up to 120 spectators, is equipped with a dome-shaped screen (dome diameter - 12 meters) and an optical-mechanical device ZKP-1 ("Planetarium" Carl Zeiss), as well as a digital full-dome projection system with a resolution of 3K. The Minsk Planetarium carries away into the world of astronomy and space with the help of popular science programs, fulldome films, cognitive lectures, interesting workshops and exhibitions of astrophotography. As well in every session you will see a fascinating starry sky! The Minsk Planetarium has its own Observatory equipped with a telescope-refractor of Carl Zeiss 1950/130 millimeters. In good weather, everyone who wishes can see the sun with spots, the moon with craters, mountains, "seas", as well as Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, double and multiple star systems, star clusters, brightest nebulae and galaxies under the guidance of our specialists. The Minsk Planetarium is part of the Eurasian Association of Planetariums.
